Founded 1929 as a private institution, Det Fynske Musikkonservatorium became a government institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs 1972. Reorganised and merged with the Academic of Music and Music Communication in Esberg, and the Acting school in Odense, 2010, to become The Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, Southern Denmark (Syddansk Musikkonservatorium og Skuespillerskole).
