Founded in 2004 on the authority of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and is a constituent university of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Graduates of the University are awarded degrees from both the Medical University of Bahrain and the National University of Ireland. In addition, graduates in medicine also receive Licentiates from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. The degrees awarded by RCSI Bahrain are recognised and attested by the Higher Education Council in Bahrain
