History

Founded in 1986 as Arba Minch Water Technology Institute and offered short- and long-term training, and carried out research and consultancy services. Until 1993 it was under the Water Reseource Commission, and was transferred to the Ministry of Education in order to produce qualified manpower. In 1997, it became the Arba Minch Technology Institute, and acquired current title and status in 2004
