Founded 1989 by the merging of Queen Mary College (incorporated by Royal Charter in 1934; previously established as East London College and originally founded as People's Palace Technical Schools, 1887) and Westfield College (incorporated by Royal Charter 1933; founded 1882). A College of the University of London. Merged with St. Bartholomew's Medical College (Founded 1843) and London Hospital Medical College (Founded as Erslards first medical school in 1785) autumn 1995, to create St Bartholomew's and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry within the College. Acquired present title 2013. Queen Mary is a member institution of the federal University of London
